  WB analysis using 87149-1-RR (same clone as 87149-1-PBS)

  Non-treated HeLa cells and paclitaxel treated HeLa cells were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 87149-1-RR (Phospho-Vimentin (Ser56) antibody) at dilution of 1:10000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. The membrane was stripped and re-blotted with Beta Actin (66009-1-Ig) antibody as a loading control. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 87149-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Background Information

Vimentin, also named as VIM, belongs to the intermediate filament family. Phospho-Vimentin (Ser56) is a phosphorylated form of the intermediate filament protein Vimentin that plays a significant role in regulating cellular functions such as smooth muscle contraction, cell migration, and mitosis. Phosphorylation of Vimentin at Ser-56 has been found to regulate vimentin depolymerization and the spatial reorientation of vimentin filaments, which modulates intercellular force transmission and contraction in smooth muscle.
