Background Information
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the joints. Rheumatoid factors are the autoantibodies identified in rheumatoid arthritis that target the Fc region of IgG. Among the different rheumatoid factor isotypes, rheumatoid factor IgM is the most clinically used to estimate disease prognosis in rheumatoid arthritis (PMID: 36341420).
