Background Information
ZNF410 (Zinc Finger Protein 410) is a transcription factor involved in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in the context of fetal hemoglobin (HbF) repression and chromatin remodeling. This protein is highly conserved among mammals and plays a crucial role in erythroid cells. The study found that ZNF410 uniquely silences HbF by activating its sole target gene, CHD4, a known HbF repressor in erythroid cells. (PMID: 40158221)
