Background Information

G9a/GLP complex is associated with Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2).The G9a/GLP complex also regulates DNA methylation during early embryogenesis, which is independent of their methyltransferase activity. ZNF644 and WIZ, two zinc finger proteins, interact with G9a and GLP, respectively. These two zinc finger proteins target G9a and GLP to genomic loci for the regulation of gene transcription.
