  WB analysis of rat thymus using 86985-1-RR (same clone as 86985-1-PBS)

  rat thymus tissue was subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 86985-1-RR (CD43 antibody) at dilution of 1:5000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 86985-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  Affinity and Kinetic Characterization of 86985-1-RR

  Biolayer interferometry (BLl) kinetic assays of 86985-1-RR against Rat CD43 were performed. The affinity constant is 0.256 nM.

Background Information

CD43, also known as leukosialin, sialophorin, leukocyte sialoglycoprotein, SPN and W3/13 antigen, is a mucin-like type I transmembrane protein. Rat CD43 is a sialoglycoprotein with an apparent molecular weight of ~100 kDa and is found on thymocytes, T lymphocytes, neutrophils, plasma cells and myelomas but not on B lymphocytes or most other tissues (PMID: 2965006). CD43 is involved in the contact between cells participating in a series of events such as signaling, adherence, and host-parasite interactions (PMID: 10580634; 31197200).
