Background Information
Pericentrin (PCNT) is a large, highly conserved centrosomal protein essential for organizing the pericentriolar material (PCM)-the matrix surrounding the centrioles that nucleates and anchors microtubules. It acts as a scaffold that recruits and positions key regulatory complexes, including γ-tubulin ring complexes (γ-TuRCs), protein kinase A (PKA) and dynein, thereby orchestrating microtubule nucleation, spindle assembly and centrosome maturation throughout the cell cycle
