The protein family with sequence similarity 134 (FAM134) consists of three proteins, FAM134B, FAM134A, and FAM134C, which share the same LIR amino acid sequence. FAM134 reticulon family proteins (FAM134A, FAM134B, and FAM134C) are ER-phagy receptors with structural similarities and nonredundant functions. The protein family with sequence similarity 134 (FAM134). Fam134A (also known as metastasis-associated genes 2, MAG-2) is widely expressed in various types of tissues including tumors, and is considered to be closely correlated with tumor proliferation, invasion, and metastasis.
