Background Information
Acyl-CoA thioesterase (Acot)2 localizes to the mitochondrial matrix and hydrolyses long-chain fatty acyl-CoA into free FA and CoASH. Acot2 is expressed in highly oxidative tissues and is poised to modulate mitochondrial FA oxidation (FAO) (PMID: 25114170). The structure of ACOT2 consists of two domains, N and C domains, and the active site of ACOT2 is located at the interface between the N and C domains (PMID: 19497300). ACOT2 shares 98% homology with ACOT1, and this antibody can detect both ACOT1 and ACOT2.

Reviews
What customers say
One reviewer (4/5 stars) used this antibody for Western Blot at 1:1000 on human and mouse brain tissues and rat PC12 cells. They observed a specific 48 kDa band in human samples only, but noted a strong non-specific band at 40 kDa across all sample types. The reviewer provided detailed protocol conditions including 15 µg of RIPA lysate on a 4–12% Bis-Tris gradient gel with overnight transfer and SEA Block blocking buffer.
The reviews below have been submitted by verified Proteintech customers who received an incentive for providing their feedback.
