Background Information
CHMP2A, also known as Vps2-1, belongs to the chromatin-modifying protein/charged multivesicular body protein (CHMP) family. CHMP2A is a component of ESCRT-III (endosomal sorting complex required for transport III), a complex involved in the degradation of surface receptor proteins and the formation of endocytic multivesicular bodies (MVBs). It has been shown that CHMP2A can interact with and regulate the function of the AAA-ATPase VPS4B (PMID: 15173323). CHMP2A is also reported to be involved in HIV budding (PMID: 21396898; 23051622).

Reviews
What customers say
Across five reviews, this CHMP2A antibody is well received, primarily for Western blot. Users report a clear band at the expected ~34 kDa with low background, especially after optimization. Typical dilutions range from 1:500 to 1:1000. A couple of reviewers noted the presence of nonspecific bands, which slightly lowered their ratings. One immunofluorescence review highlighted clean staining in methanol-fixed HeLa cells at 1:300. Overall, the antibody is considered reliable and effective for its intended applications, with minor issues around specificity in some cell lines.
The reviews below have been submitted by verified Proteintech customers who received an incentive for providing their feedback.
Jelan (Verified Customer) (01-14-2026) | When used in Western blotting, the CHMP2A antibody from Proteintech typically yields a clear band at the expected molecular weight with low background after optimization.
