Background Information
MRPL20 (mitochondrial ribosomal protein L20) is a 149-amino-acid nuclear-encoded protein that belongs to the bacterial ribosomal protein bL20 family. As a structural constituent of the mitochondrial ribosome , MRPL20 localizes to the 39S large subunit, where it integrates into the mitochondrial inner membrane and facilitates the synthesis of mitochondrial genome-encoded proteins-including essential transmembrane subunits of the mitochondrial respiratory chain-by participating in all three phases of mitochondrial translation: initiation, elongation, and termination.

What published studies show
The MRPL20 Polyclonal antibody (Cat# 16969-1-AP) has 2 citations. These appear in Nature Structural & Molecular Biology (2024), covering mitochondrial ribosome assembly in humans, and Bone (2025), addressing extracellular pH regulation of osteoclast fusion and activation in mice. Both studies utilized the antibody for Western blot analysis. The research fields span mitochondrial translation/ribosome biology and bone/osteoclast biology.
