Background Information
SCPEP1 is synthesized as a ~51-55 kDa precursor (zymogen) containing a signal peptide and five N-glycosylation sites. During lysosomal maturation, it undergoes proteolytic cleavage and N-glycan trimming, producing multiple forms that can appear at ~30 kDa on WB. (PMID: 19187242, 16461364)
