Background Information
FTL belongs to the ferritin family. It stores iron in a soluble, non-toxic, readily available form. FTL is important for iron homeostasis. It plays a role in delivery of iron to cells. FTL mediates iron uptake in capsule cells of the developing kidney. Mutation of FTL will cause hereditary hyperferritinemia-cataract syndrome (HHCS) or neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation type 3 (NBIA3). Ferritin light polypeptide (FTL) and ferritin heavy polypeptide (FTH1) were the main constituents the striatum and cerebellar cortex revealed.

Reviews
What customers say
All three reviews are for Western Blot applications with positive ratings (4–5 stars). Users report good lane-to-lane consistency and reliable detection of the target subunit (~17–28 kDa). One reviewer noted slightly diffuse bands but attributed this to membrane transfer of small proteins rather than antibody quality. Working dilutions ranged from 1:2000 to 1:10000. Tested species include mouse and human. Overall, reviewers express satisfaction with the antibody's performance and reproducibility.
The reviews below have been submitted by verified Proteintech customers who received an incentive for providing their feedback.
Zakia (Verified Customer) (08-21-2026) | Demonstrates good lane-to-lane consistency across samples, successfully marking the target subunit region between 17 and 28 kDa.The bands in this specific image appear somewhat diffuse, but this is entirely a technical artifact of the membrane transfer stage (common with small ~20 kDa proteins) and not a reflection of antibody quality. satisfied with this antibody.
