Background Information
AAK1, also named as KIAA1048, belongs to the protein kinase superfamily and Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It phosphorylates the AP2M1/mu2 subunit of the adaptor protein complex 2 (AP-2). AAK1 may play a role in regulating aspects of clathrin-mediated endocytosis (PMID:14617351).
