Background Information

AGPAT6 is a member of the 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase (AGPAT) family. AGPAT6 is expressed in brown adipose tissue and mammary epithelium as well as many other tissues. A deficiency of AGPAT6 in mice results in resistance to dietinduced and genetic forms of obesity.
