Background Information
AMIGO2 (Amphoterin-induced protein 2) is a type I transmembrane adhesion molecule with leucine-rich repeats and an immunoglobulin domain. It was originally identified in cerebellar granule neurons to support neuronal survival. It mediates homophilic and heterophilic cell-cell adhesion with AMIGO family members and modulates PDK1-Akt signaling. AMIGO2 is upregulated in multiple cancers, promoting tumor cell proliferation, migration and metastasis, and serves as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for malignancies. (PMID: 41254143)
