Background Information
Angiopoietin-like protein 5 (ANGPTL5) is a member of the angiopoietin-like proteins (ANGPTLs) family. Eight members have been described so far (ANGPTL1 through ANGPTL8), and have been shown to have various physiological functions in lipid and glucose metabolism, inflammation, hematopoiesis, angiogenesis and cancer.
