The protein functions as a GTPase-activating factor by converting Rho class GTPases into their inactive GDP-bound state. ARHGAP23 is involved in the Rho GTPase signaling pathway, affecting processes such as cytoskeletal reorganization, cell migration, and cell proliferation.
