  One mouse lung was cultured for 18 hours in RPMI 1640 supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 50 μM β-mercaptoethanol, 2 mM L-glutamine, and 100 μg/mL of streptomycin sulfate. An aliquot of the cell culture supernate was removed, assayed for mouse ANGPTL4, and measured 268.5 pg/mL.
