Background Information
Voltage-dependent calcium channel gamma-2 subunit (CACNG2, also known as stargazin or TARP gamma-2) is a brain-specific transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory proteint. CACNG2 is intimately involved in the trafficking of glutamatergic AMPA receptors and the modulation of their ion channel function (PMID: 20688780).
