Background Information

Cytohesin 3 (CYTH3), also known as GRP1, ARNO3, or PSCD3, is a member of the PSCD family of guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) that regulate ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) GTPases. Through its Sec7 domain, CYTH3 facilitates the exchange of GDP for GTP on ARF proteins, thereby modulating vesicle biogenesis, protein sorting, and Golgi apparatus structure and function. Clinicopathological studies demonstrate that CYTH3 is significantly upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and negatively correlates with patient survival.
