Background Information

DEAD-box helicase 47 (DDX47) is a member of the DEAD-box protein family. It contains two conserved domains: DEXDc (DEAD-like helicases superfamily) and HELICc (helicase superfamily c-terminal domain) (PMID: 16337753). DDX47 can shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. In different cancers, evidence has shown that DDX47 is a poor prognostic predictor for renal cell carcinoma, as well as a diagnostic biomarker for breast cancer and chronic myeloid leukemia (PMID: 35490652).
