Background Information
G protein-coupled receptor kinase-interacting protein 2(GIT2) is a signaling scaffold protein involved in the regulation of membrane trafficking, cytoskeletal structure, and G protein-coupled receptor internalization. It belongs to the GIT fmaily that has been shown to involve in regrlating emotional function, vascular development and mitochondrial biogenesis. Also GIT protein may have role in focal adhesion dynamics, cell migration and directing the spatial localization of signaling molecules such as MEK1 and ERK1/2.
