Background Information
GNG3, also named as GNGT3, belongs to the G protein gamma family. G proteins are heterotrimers of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits. Gamma subunits, such as GNG3, contribute to the specificity of the hundreds of receptor signaling pathways involving G proteins. GNG3 is predominantly expressed in the brain, where its expression increases during postnatal development.
