Background Information
GPR112 is a member of the adhesion G protein-coupled receptor (aGPCR) family. These receptors are characterized by a complex architecture and large size, mainly attributed to their N terminus, which contains a variety of domains involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The function of GPR112 and other aGPCRs is closely related to key aspects of the development, architecture, and function of the nervous system. They are involved in neuronal migration, axon guidance, dendritogenesis, and synaptogenesis. Additionally, aGPCRs, including GPR112, have been implicated in the development of myelinating glial cells, which are crucial for proper neuronal signal propagation.
