Background Information
GPR44 (PTGDR2/CRTH2) is a Gi-coupled prostaglandin D₂ receptor expressed on Th2 lymphocytes, eosinophils, and basophils, where it mediates chemotaxis and activation of type 2 immune cells. Through PGD₂-dependent signaling, GPR44 plays a central role in allergic inflammation and eosinophilic immune responses, making it an important therapeutic target in asthma and other Th2-mediated diseases.
