Product Information
KE00745 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human CD157 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human CD157. The assay recognizes human CD157. An antibody specific for human CD157 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human CD157 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human CD157 is added to detect the captured human CD157 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD157, also named as BST-1 (bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1) or ADP-ribosyl cyclase 2, is a glycosyl phosphotidylinositol-anchored protein that stimulates pre-B-cell growth and has adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-ribosyl cyclase and cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) hydrolase activity. The two enzymatic activities are responsible for the synthesis and hydrolysis of cADPR, a novel second messenger of calcium release from intracellular calcium stores.
