Product Information
KE00531 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human Cadherin-17 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human Cadherin-17. The assay recognizes human Cadherin-17. An antibody specific for human Cadherin-17 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human Cadherin-17 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human Cadherin-17 is added to detect the captured human Cadherin-17 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Cadherin-17 (CDH17) is a member of the cadherin family of cell adhesion molecules, which are present in the fetal liver and gastrointestinal tract and exhibit elevated expression during embryogenesis. It plays a crucial role in cell-cell adhesion and is involved in promoting tumor invasion and metastasis in several cancers, such as colorectal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and cholangiocarcinoma. CDH17 can act as an integrin ligand through an RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) motif to promote integrin activation that results in enhanced tumor proliferation. It is also a useful marker for the diagnosis of gastric cancer (GC).
