KE00957 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human FLT4/VEGFR3 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human FLT4/VEGFR3. The assay recognizes human FLT4/VEGFR3. An antibody specific for human FLT4/VEGFR3 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human FLT4/VEGFR3 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human FLT4/VEGFR3 is added to detect the captured human FLT4/VEGFR3 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
FLT4, also known as Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 3 (VEGFR-3), is a receptor tyrosine kinase primarily involved in lymphangiogenesis (the formation of lymphatic vessels) and vascular development. It binds to its ligands, VEGF-C and VEGF-D, activating signaling pathways that regulate lymphatic endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and survival. FLT4 plays a critical role in embryonic development, maintaining lymphatic vessel integrity, and pathological conditions such as lymphedema, tumor metastasis, and cardiovascular diseases. Mutations in FLT4 can lead to conditions like lymphedema.
