Product Information
KE00646 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PROCR/EPCR/CD201 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PROCR/EPCR/CD201. The assay recognizes human PROCR/EPCR/CD201. An antibody specific for human PROCR/EPCR/CD201 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PROCR/EPCR/CD201 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PROCR/EPCR/CD201 is added to detect the captured human PROCR/EPCR/CD201 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
EPCR (endothelial cell protein C receptor), also known as CD201, is a type 1 transmembrane protein that is primarily found on endothelial cells. It exhibits sequence and three-dimensional structural homology with the major histocompatibility class 1/CD1 family of proteins, particularly CD1d. It binds activated protein C and enhances protein C activation by the thrombin-thrombomodulin complex. It plays a role in the protein C pathway controlling blood coagulation.
