Product Information
KE00462 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human SRP54 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human SRP54. The assay recognizes human SRP54. An antibody specific for human SRP54 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human SRP54 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human SRP54 is added to detect the captured human SRP54 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Signal Recognition Particle 54 kDa (SRP54) is a subunit of the signal recognition particle (SRP), a cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein complex guiding the transportation of newly synthesized proteins from polyribosomes to endoplasmic reticulum. SRP54 plays a role in granulocyte prolif eration and differentiation, neutrophil migration capacity and pancre atic exocrine development. In addition, it has been shown that signal recognition particle 54 (SRP54) acts as a negative regulator of antiviral signal transduction induced by RLRs.
