Background Information
IDO2 is one of two closely related tryptophan catabolizing enzymes induced under inflammatory conditions. In contrast to the immunoregulatory role defined for IDO1 in cancer models, IDO2 has a proinflammatory function in models of autoimmunity and contact hypersensitivity. The product of the IDO2 gene is a 420 amino-acid protein, with a molecular weight of ~47 kDa. (PMID: 34965962, PMID: 29807576, PMID: 35493480)
