Background Information
Leucine carboxyl methyltransferase 1 (LCMT1) belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily (LCMT family). It methylates the carboxyl group of the C-terminal leucine residue of protein phosphatase 2A catalytic subunits to form alpha-leucine ester residues.
