IKBKB, also named as NFKBIKB, IKK2 and IKKB, belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, Ser/Thr protein kinase family and I-kappa-B kinase subfamily. IKBKB acts as part of the IKK complex in the conventional pathway of NF-kappa-B activation and phosphorylates inhibitors of NF-kappa-B thus leading to the dissociation of the inhibitor/NF-kappa-B complex and ultimately the degradation of the inhibitor. It also phosphorylates NCOA3. The antibody is specific to IKBKB. This antibody can identify 3 isoform of IKBKB with the molecular weight of 80, 86, 87 kDa.
