Product Information

KE10096 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CCL17/TARC ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CCL17/TARC. The assay recognizes mouse CCL17/TARC. An antibody specific for mouse CCL17/TARC has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CCL17/TARC protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for mouse CCL17/TARC is added to detect the captured mouse CCL17/TARC protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

Thymus and Activation-Regulated Chemokine (TARC/CCL17) is a member of the CC or β-chemokine family. TARC/CCL17 is constitutively expressed in the thymus and is produced by dendritic cells (DC), endothelial cells, keratinocytes (KC) and fibroblasts. It is a ligand for CCR4, which is predominantly expressed on Th2 lymphocytes, basophils and natural killer cells. TARC has been shown to selectively recruit skin-homing CLA+ memory CD4+ T cells into skin during times of immune challenge. The serum TARC levels are closely related to the disease activity of Atopic dermatitis.
