Product Information
KE10203 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CD13 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CD13. The assay recognizes mouse CD13. An antibody specific for mouse CD13 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CD13 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse CD13 is added to detect the captured mouse CD13 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD13 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that is involved in the processing of various peptides, including peptide hormones, such as angiotensin III and IV, neuropeptides, and chemokines. CD13 may also be involved in the cleavage of peptides bound to major histocompatibility complex class II molecules of antigen-presenting cells. It could be a potential therapeutic target for inflammatory disorders. Additionally, soluble CD13 (sCD13) can bind to a G-protein-coupled receptor on activated T cells, monocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, acting as a chemoattractant for monocyte and T cell migration.
