Product Information
KE10149 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse PROCR ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse PROCR. The assay recognizes mouse PROCR. An antibody specific for mouse PROCR has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse PROCR protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse PROCR is added to detect the captured mouse PROCR protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Endothelial protein C receptor (PROCR, also known as CD201 and EPCR) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a critical role in the protein C anticoagulant pathway. Soluble PROCR (sPROCR) and PROCR bind Protein C (PC) and activated PC (APC) with similar affinity and the binding of sPROCR to APC inhibits its anticoagulant activity. Levels of sPROCR were associated with PC levels in the Leiden Thrombophilia Study (LETS). Additionally, PROCR has been implicated in stem cell maintenance and cancer biology, where it may influence cell proliferation and survival.
