Background Information
NEURL4, also known as KIAA1787, has 6 highly conserved neuralized homology repeats (NHRs), which are thought to mediate protein-protein interactions. NEURL4 localizes to the daughter centriole and prevents formation of ectopic microtubule-organizing centers. NEURL4 promotes CCP110 ubiquitination and proteasome-dependent degradation, maintaining normal centrosomal homeostasis and preventing the formation of abnormal microtubule tissue centers (MTOCs) by countering CP110 accumulation(PMID: 22441691, 22261722).
