Background Information

NFKBID, also known as IkBNS, belongs to the IKB protein family of NFKB inhibitors and is induced by T-cell receptor stimulation(PMID: 11931770). NFKBID regulates the expression of IL-2, IL-6, and other cytokines through regulation on NF-kappa-B activity. NFKBID plays a role in regulating inflammatory responses. NFKBID is involved in the induction of T helper 17 cells (Th17) differentiation upon antigen recognition by T cell antigen receptor (TCR). (PMID: 25347393)
