Background Information

NFYB (Nuclear transcription factor Y subunit beta), also known as CBF-A/HAP3, is an essential subunit of the heterotrimeric NF-Y complex. NFYB has a histone-folding domain and binds NFYC in the cytoplasm; this dimer then enters the nucleus, recruits NFYA, and forms a trimer that specifically recognizes the CCAAT box, regulating genes involved in proliferation, apoptosis, and stress responses.
