Background Information

NTNG2, also known as Netrin-G2, belongs to the Netrin family and operates through binding with its receptors. It is involved in controlling patterning and neuronal circuit formation at the laminar, cellular, subcellular and synaptic levels. It also promotes neurite outgrowth of both axons and dendrites (PMID: 21946559). NTNG2 has two isoforms with molecular weights of 59 kDa and 47 kDa respectively. According to the Uniprot website, this protein contains a signal peptide and a propeptide, so the molecular weight of the mature protein is approximately 50 kDa.
