Background Information
Platelet endothelial aggregation receptor 1 (PEAR1) is a type I transmembrane protein with an EMI domain, 15 epidermal growth factor-like repeats, and multiple cytoplasmic tyrosines and prolines (PMID: 15851471). Highly expressed in endothelial cells and platelets, PEAR1 participates in platelet contact-induced activation. It is required for SVEP1-mediated platelet activation, via its interaction with SVEP1 and subsequent activation of AKT/mTOR signaling (PMID: 36792666). PEAR1 has also been reported to play roles in the proliferation of activated fibroblasts and myoblasts (PMID: 36402779; 39765730).
