Background Information
RBM20 (RNA binding motif protein 20) is a striated muscle-specific splicing factor that regulates alternative splicing of many cardiac genes encoding sarcomere and calcium-regulatory proteins (PMID: 36417486). RBM20 has been identified as a crucial RNA-binding protein that controls the splicing of TTN (PMID: 30547036). RBM20 is expressed in all striated muscles but is highest in cardiac tissue (PMID: 34575212).
