Background Information
Kazrin is an evolutionarily conserved protein that is upregulated during keratinocyte terminal differentiation. Kazrin localizes to desmosomes and binds the epidermal cornified envelope protein periplakin. Kazrin exists three isoforms:kazrin A (46.7 kDa), kazrin B (46 kDa), and kazrin C (37 kDa).
