Background Information
RSPO2 is one of the R-spondins (RSPOs) which comprise a family of four secreted proteins that have important roles in cell proliferation, cell fate determination and organogenesis. RSPOs typically exert their effects by potentiating the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. Overexpression of Rspo2 is sufficient to promote bone morphogenetic protein-induced mineralization Rspo2 was identified as a novel common integration site (CIS) for the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) in viral induced mouse mammary tumors.
