Background Information
TMP21 (also named TMED10/p23) belongs to the p24 family of type I transmembrane proteins. It resides in ER-Golgi compartments and mediates vesicular cargo transport. TMP21 modulates γ-secretase activity and amyloid precursor protein processing, which participates in amyloid-β generation linked to neurodegeneration (PMID:22299712).
