Background Information

TP53TG5 (TP53-target gene 5) localized to chromosome band 20q13.1, encodes a 290-amino-acid peptide. The protein is induced by p53/TP53 in response to cellular stress signals, including UV irradiation, hydrogen peroxide treatment, and DNA-damaging agents .
