Background Information

TRDN is a complete transmembrane protein connecting the sarcoplasmic reticulum, which has the function of triggering excitation-contraction coupling of skeletal muscle and heart and regulating heart rate. TRDN is significantly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle. Mutations in triadin can lead to malignant ventricular arrhythmias (PMID:33692971).
