Background Information

Tripartite motif-containing 55 (TRIM55), which is also called muscle-specific ring finger 2 (Murf2), has been indicated to participate in the natural development of muscle and the cardiovascular system. The expression of TRIM55 also inhibited several markers of cancer stem-like cells (PMID: 34974792). MURF2 mRNA studies revealed up to four potential isoforms generated by differential splicing events within the 3′-region of the gene: p60, p50, p27, and p60B MURF2 isoforms. The change in the ratio of E3 ligase isoforms regulates the sequential activation of proteasomal or autophagic degradation of target components(PMID: 15199100, PMID: 24124537). This antibody could detect multiple isoforms or post-translational modifications of TRIM55.
