Validation Data Gallery

• 

  Purity of recombinant human Activin A was determined by SDS- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The protein was resolved in an SDS- polyacrylamide gel in reducing and non-reducing conditions and stained using Coomassie blue.

• 

  GMP Recombinant human Activin A (HZ-1138-GMP) causes dose-dependent inhibition of proliferation in the Mouse plasmacytoma (MPC-11) cell line. Proliferation of the MPC-11 cell line was assessed using Promega CellTiter 96®. MPC-11 cells were treated with increasing concentrations of GMP recombinant human Activin A for 72 hrs hours before addition of CellTiter96® reagent. The EC50 was determined using a 4-parameter non-linear regression model. Activity determination was conducted in triplicate on a validated bioassay. The EC50 values range from 0.5-3.5 ng/ml

Reconstitution

Humankine Activin A has authentic protein maturation and high activity

Background

Activin A, a member of the TGF-β superfamily, was named for its ability to activate FSH secretion from the anterior pituitary gland (PMID 16885530). Three activins have been identified in human tissues: activin A, activin B, and activinAB, of which activin A is the most studied. Activin A has various functions in regulating cell differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis and carcinogenesis (PMID 8200957). Xeno-free Recombinant Human Activin A is expressed from human 293 cells as disulfide linked homodimers with molecular mass of 25 kDa.
