Background Information
The selective RNA-binding protein FMRP forms a messenger ribonucleoprotein complex that associates with polyribosomes, implicating in regulation of translation. FMR1 is a component of the CYFIP1-EIF4E-FMR1 complex which binds to and reperss the mRNA. It also has a role in the transport of mRNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. FMR1 exists several isforms and the molecular weight of FMR1 is about 59-72 kDa.

Reviews
What customers say
Both reviewers used the antibody for Western blot at 1:1000 dilution. One user (4/5) found it sensitive enough to detect the target band in IP pull-downs, though it showed multiple bands possibly representing protein isoforms, limiting specificity. The other user (2/5) reported insufficient specificity in WB on mouse and rat brain tissue, noting the need for long exposure with highly sensitive ECL and that it performed worse than an alternative antibody they had available. Overall, sensitivity was acknowledged, but specificity concerns were the main recurring theme.
The reviews below have been submitted by verified Proteintech customers who received an incentive for providing their feedback.
Parisa (Verified Customer) (09-26-2023) | We used for WB, nor high specificity as we could see different bands (they could be different isoforms of the protein). But it was sensitive and we could see the band pulled down in IP for our protein of interest.
|
Marta (Verified Customer) (02-24-2020) | not specific enough in WB. Not tested in IPworst than the antibody that we have available in the antibody. Need a long exposure with a high sensible ECL.
